no sovereign territory

"Officials will be questioned and eventually indicted, the Israeli army and government officials said."

another take over of palestinian lands from imperialist israel. i do not believe the israelis are innocent in all this violence. they have provoked the palestinians, they have set the stage for this sort of thing. they clearly do not want peace. they want ongoing struggle to prop up a government that would otherwise have to face social issues, that would otherwise have to devise a peace plan.

thank gwbutthead for announcing publicly that israel was justified in using violence to solve the problem of an abducted israeli soldier. that's a blank check for israeli territorial aggression. it is, in turn, a blank check for islamist militants to proclaim america's complicity in this matter, which will only fuel the flames of hatred.

why won't someone, anyone, in the american political machine condemn this violence? it would anywhere else.

you breed corruption

america's culture of corruption is worse than you think. you can't even donate to disaster relief without fear it will be stolen and sold for profit. it might not even be prosecuted because government employees stole stuff too.

trust is breaking down in our society as greed and selfishness rise. all this talk of individualism means less compassion, less care, less thought for others. it means we become callous and unfeeling towards our fellow humans, our fellow americans. politicians like to blame movies and video games for violence and desensitivity to violence. i disagree. i blame politicians. the same day harris and klebold opened fire on their school, clinton was bombing kosovo--both instances of using violence to solve problems. the republican push for the rights of the individual has driven many to believe they alone have rights, and the rest of us should follow what they believe.

if i had a gun, i'd still never be able to buy/make/steal enough bullets to put an end to this. american society is in decline, all because we want to have it all, and share nothing. give me satisfaction now, and damn the consequences.

al-qaeda does have a point, but their tactics mean we won't think about corruption in our society, we won't address it thoughtfully, we won't do anything to change how corrupt we've become. we'll only get worse: less tolerant, more self-centered.

not that i support his views or his proposed vision of a solution. i see the breakdown of society as a horrible problem with no easy solution. too bad we're all too lazy and selfish to work at changing things.

get out of somalia.

the cia is funneling money to corrupt somalian warlards in a vain and futile effort stop the advance of organized islamists. somalia is a non-country, a chaos land with no functioning government and little order. yes, these islamists follow sharia law, but with some support and some negotiation they may be encouraged to loosen up, while still maintaining their organized approach to government and order. they claim to oppose hosting al-qaeda, and maybe we should show some trust to earn their trust. the british and italians, former colonial rulers, are working to bring peace and unity to somalia, but american meddling can only make a mess. haven't we learned? will we ever learn?

i saw blackhawk down. i know we can't help there. certainly not in the way the cia is doing it now.

america is why the world is spiralling out of control. america has created determined enemies because of its judgemental attitude and irrational racist fear. partisanship polarises and destroys honest, open debate. it does not allow for reason or logic. it only fucks things up. this is america, coming unglued one politician at a time.

i am angry. i am angry because i grew up thinking america was a great place, thinking we all had a wonderful bright future ahead of us. now i'm an adult i see it isn't so. worse, though, i see that our so-called leaders are only making a mess of all the great things i thought we had. sure, it wasn't as good as i thought it was, but i never thought it could be this bad. it's only getting worse.

not that anyone cares what i think.
