maybe iran took those british sailors to drive up the price of oil. they know it's possible something might happen to hinder their oil production and/or oil exports, so they're trying to save up as much money as they can now before that happens.

head-to-head

political brinkmanship is about to blow up. gwbastard is going head-to-head with congress. he seems rather concerned about this sudden congressional oversight the republicans were too scared or corrupt to display. bush will fight tooth and nail any attempt to keep tabs on his administration, and hopefully the democrats will fight too. i don't care about what they say, about what fingers they point, i just want someone to keep the president accountable to the nation. right now he is not, but maybe the democrats can impress on him, on the republicans, and the rest of us as citizens and voters, that congressional oversight is necessary for a properly functioning united states government. i don't expect bush to back down or pull back the sniveling hypocrisy of his rhetoric, but if the democrats press him we're going to have one hell of another two years.
